Spring is all most here, the night skies start to clear up and out come the telescopes. During the last 3 weeks we've had some nice sun spots but the clouds only parted a few times. This month opens with what is called Globe at night
http://www.globeatnight.org/ this happens every year. Its fun for the kids. Also in March we have what is called a Messier Marathon, find 110 Messier objects from dusk to dawn. They can all be found from your back yard with at least a 10x50 Bino. This month Saturn's ring's tilt 3° to us,first time in 15 years. The evening sky shows Saturn(east)Mars(southeast)Venus(west)Mercury(west). Midnight Mars(west)Saturn(southwest). Morning sky Jupiter(east)Saturn(west). If you look high in the south east sky the star that's orange is Mars. During the weekend of the 19 to 21 we plan on holding a star party for anyone to stop by. We'll put up fliers that week for time and location. The moon will only be a few days old that weekend and it will offer some great views.
